Laser for black ink:
This is the color of ink that almost everyone has as part of their
tattoo. For this, we use the Nd: Yag laser just like everyone else
across the country. Because this is the most common laser needed, this
is where we spared no expense to get the very best. Our Nd: Yag laser
is built in the United States by a company in Connecticut named Focus
Medical. What makes their laser special is that they have come up with a
way of making a laser that is 2x more powerful than any other laser on
the market. And yes, they charge a lot for it, but it’s worth every
penny. Tattoos are coming out faster and more completely then they ever
where in the past. With this laser, complete tattoo removal is a
modern reality.
Laser for green ink: There are 2 types of lasers that remove green ink—the Ruby laser and the Alexandrite laser. The Ruby was the first one produced. Later, when the Alexandrite laser came out, both lasers were tested head to head in several medical studies, and although the Ruby laser was able to take ink out a little faster, it took a lot more of the natural skin color out as well and left white patches, and as a result, it fell out of favor. When Dr. Towey started removing tattoos 8 years ago, he couldn’t even find anyone still selling Ruby lasers. Now, more recently, Ruby lasers have started showing up again through some manufacturers. We use an Alexandrite laser for green ink. We are happy with the results we get and plan to continue using it to remove green ink.
Laser for blue ink: We started using a new laser for blue ink last fall, and we are literally shocked and surprised at how well it has been taking out blue ink. Bright blue has always been a problem to remove, but now it’s just like removing any other color. If you have blue ink in our tattoo, you’ll want to see this laser– this thing is fantastic!
Laser for red ink: Our laser for red ink has power to burn. We’ve never needed to turn it up more than half way to remove any red ink.
