Sometimes procrastination does pay off. You’ve been thinking
about getting that tattoo removed for just long enough. Our field of medicine
has changed dramatically over the past two years. Thanks to the popularity of
tattoo removal, doctors and laser companies have made major advancements
recently. Now we can take off tattoos faster and more completely than ever
before. Click on a statement below to read more.
New much stronger lasers: We have NEVER had a tattoo
we could not remove. If complete removal is important to you, then look
at the power of the lasers. If they are too weak, the last little bit of
ink can not be removed, and you are left with a light picture of your formerly
dark tattoo. Our new laser represents the next advance in laser
power. It produces 2 joules of energy. That’s 2 times stronger than
any laser found within 1000 miles of MN. Increased power means more complete
removal but no increase in side effects.
5 lasers to choose from: Different colors of laser light are
needed to remove different colors of ink.
If a clinic does not have the laser with the color of light you need,
then they cannot remove all of the ink of that color. Most laser operators,
whether doctors or others, have 2-3 colors of light to choose from. We have 5 different colors of laser light we
can use to remove todays bolder, brightly colored tattoos.
Multiple treatments per visit: In the old days, when we
tried to do more than one treatment at a time, the tattoos did not come out any
faster. A few years ago researcher discovered what was slowing us down, and
since then we have been devising better and better ways to speed up the removal
process. Currently we are able to remove more ink at each visit by using these
new techniques, so we can get your tattoo removed more quickly. See FAQ for more
details.
Guaranteed complete removal: 90% of tattoos come out in the
expected time frame. The other 10% take twice as long. Based on our experience,
we think it must be related to the brand of ink used. It definitely seems to be
random. Because of this, you have the option to pay one price for unlimited
treatments as insurance against being stuck with a half removed tattoo. We have
never had a tattoo that we could not remove, though some have taken longer. See
the price page
for a more complete explanation.
8 years of experience: Over the past 8 years, Dr. Towey has
personally performed over 25,000 treatments, so the chance of you getting any
side effects is much less at our clinic.
Broad medical background: We focus on every part of the
removal process. Over the years, we have developed special techniques to help
fix any potential problems. For example, after all of the ink has been removed,
if there is still a raised outline caused be the original tattooing process, we
can smooth that down and make it disappear. As you know, your risk of getting a
side effect with us is low, but if you are one of the unlucky few, we will work
to return your skin to normal at no additional cost to you.
Wider laser beam: For reasons related to physics, when you
treat a bigger surface area with each laser pulse, you get a faster removal.
Our laser, because of its greater power, is able to treat an area 15 times
larger than that of the other shops in Minneapolis.
3 options for pain medicine: Without pain management, tattoo
removal hurts; it hurts a lot. Without numbing up your skin, tattoo
removal feels like someone snapping you with a rubber band, while at the same
time, someone else is flicking bacon grease at you. After numbing up your
skin, the bacon grease part is gone, and you are just left with the feeling of
being snapped with a rubber band. Our basic numbing cream is an
inexpensive prescription medication that takes away 50-75% of the pain.
After you apply the cream, the pain of removal is similar in intensity to
getting a tattoo put on. We have another cream that costs a little more
but is much stronger. We use that for more sensitive areas or more sensitive
people, and we even have Lidocaine injections available if needed. There
is virtually no residual pain after the treatment is finished.
